Vocabulary
We reviewed the unit 9 vocabulary with a game of hotseat.

Grammar
We played 3rd form of the verb bingo to review the grammar of the unit. Each of us taking a turn to be the bingo caller.

Unit test
We did the unit 9 test.

Warm down
We warmed down with a wordsearch using words from the unit we have just completed and other ship and sea based words.

Homework is set for next Monday, 15h May, pages 108 and 109 of the student’s book.

We warmed up with a game of guess the famous person , taking it in turns to think of a famous person, and guess who it was using yes/no questions.

Vocabulary
We wrote a story based on using the flashcard vocabulary, taking it in turns to think of a sentence that included the words on the flashcards…..it was an ‚interesting‘ story.

Bingo
We played bingo using the 3rd form of the verb e.g. do, did, done……write, wrote, written……..drive, drove, driven.

Portfolios
In our portfolios we wrote about films we have already seen, holidays we have already been on, films we haven’t seen yet, and holidays we haven’t been on yet.

Those who weren’t here for the test last week did the test, while they were doing it, we made origami shapes with paper.

Portfolios
In our portfolios we imagined that we were a pirate and thought of a name for ourselves, our ship, and a flag for us to fly

Vocabulary
We practised the unit 8 vocabulary with a game of hotseat, and then had a class discussion about the jobs of the people on the flashcards, and why they are important to us. We guessed the cards from verbal clues, and wrote the names on the board.


We played scattegories on Bamboozle, thinking of a number of different words in different categories to win points

We did exercises based on the unit 8 grammar point…if…then

Class discussion
We had a class discussion about the future of work and how technology would affect it.
How will jobs change in the future?
What new technology will there be?
Will people still do jobs? If not, who will?
Which jobs will disappear?

Warm down
We finished the lesson with a game of werewolf, Mr Nick was the moderator, he wasn’t very good at it.

Warm up
We warmed up our brains and refreshed out unit 8 vocabulary by playing a game of Hotseat with the flashcards. Farmer, Engineer, Mechanic, Computer Programmer, Dentist, Businessman, Businesswoman, Artist, Cleaner, and Designer. We had anagrams of all the words on the board that we had to work out.

Class discussion
We had a class discussion about the jobs of the people shown on the flashcards, and why they are important to our lives today.

Portfolios
We designed a robot and thought of things that it would be able to do for us using the unit grammar….If we are hungry/tired/lonely/…..it will get us food/make us a bed/be a friend.

Student’s books
We listened to and read the unit 8 story on pages 98 and 99 of the student’s book, and completed the comprehension questions.

We had a circle time where we all said one thing that we are good at and pointed out one thing that out classmates are good at.

Review of unit 7
We reviewed the unit 7 vocabulary and grammar, going over the flashcard words  lute, candles, mask, actor, wig, costume, tights and audience, and reviewing the use of ‚have just‘.
