Unit test and homework
A reminder that the unit 8 test is next week, and that the homework is due on Monday, pages 96 and 97 of the workbook

Vocabulary
We practised the unit 8 vocabulary with a game of hotseat, and then had a class discussion about the jobs of the people on the flashcards, and why they are important to us. We guessed the cards from verbal clues, and wrote the names on the board.


We played scattegories on Bamboozle, thinking of a number of different words in different categories to win points

We had a class discussion about the future of work and how technology would affect it.
How will jobs change in the future?
What new technology will there be?
Will people still do jobs? If not, who will?
Which jobs will disappear?

Warm down
We finished the lesson with a game of werewolf, Mr Nick was the moderator, he wasn’t very good at it.

Warm up
We warmed up our brains and refreshed out unit 8 vocabulary by playing a game of Hotseat with the flashcards. Farmer, Engineer, Mechanic, Computer Programmer, Dentist, Businessman, Businesswoman, Artist, Cleaner, and Designer. We had anagrams of all the words on the board that we had to work out.

Class discussion
We had a class discussion about the jobs of the people shown on the flashcards, and why they are important to our lives today.

Portfolios
We designed a robot and thought of things that it would be able to do for us using the unit grammar….If we are hungry/tired/lonely/…..it will get us food/make us a bed/be a friend.

Student’s books
We listened to and read the unit 8 story on pages 98 and 99 of the student’s book, and completed the comprehension questions.

We had a circle time where we all said one thing that we are good at and pointed out one thing that out classmates are good at.

Those who were away for the test last week took the unit 6 tests, while the rest of us made stories by writing a line, then folding the paper over for the next person to write a line, then read the story…it was certainly interesting.
