We reviewed the Unit 1 vocabulary with the flashcards: temple, theatre, vase, statue, servant, volcano, smoke, horse and cart, columns, and fountain.

Homework
Homework was set, pages 12 and 13 of the workbook, due next Monday, 19th of October. We went through and corrected the homework we had done last week.

We went through and completed page 13 of the student’s book

Portfolios
In our portfolios we completed sentences using the unit grammar point. While one person is doing one thing, another is doing something else.

Unit discussion
We had a class discussion about the unit subject, natural disasters. We discussed what happens when an earthquake, volcano, or tsunami occurs. We were very glad to hear that none of them are very likely to happen in Prague.

Portfolios
We wrote about what we would do if any natural disasters happened in Prague….

Student’s book
We worked through pages 11 and 12 of the student’s book.

End of class
We cleaned up, and left the classroom ready for the next class.

The student of the month was awarded their certificate. Very well done to them!!

Grammar review
We did a review of the past simple grammar that we have been learning in the unit in preparation for the unit test.

Unit test
We did the unit 0 test, everyone was very focused, and it went well. Early finishers did a word search of the unit 0 vocabulary.

Scattegories
After we had finished the test, we divided into teams, and played Scattegories to warm down.

Unit grammar
We did an exercise about the simple past tense of verbs.

Portfolios
In our portfolios we did an exercise, looking at the pictures in the student’s book, and describing what was happening in the pictures. Some really good stories!

Student’s book
We read through and completed pages 8 and 9 of the student’s book, everyone read really well.

End of class
We tidies up the class, and left it as we found it.

We went over the week’s homework, pages 4 and 5 of the Workbook, and new homework was set for this week, pages 6 and 7 of the workbook.

We thought about an invention that would make our school lives easier and more enjoyable, some interesting ideas, lots to do with food!

Notebooks
We practised using the past tense of verbs by writing about the day we had yesterday, both regular and irregular verbs, like walk(ed), talk(ed), run(ran), and eat(ate)

End of class
We had a very quick review of class rules so they are fresh in our minds, tidied up the class, and put all the chairs up on the desks

Class dojo
We received the first class dojo points of the year for arriving in class prepared, with our books, and ready to get going with our LEAP class.

Homework
Homework is assigned, pages 4 and 5 of the workbook, it is due in next Monday, the 21st September.

We warmed up our brains with a game of werewolf, it’s always good fun.

Unit vocabulary
We learnt the unit 0 vocabulary. The words are ; goggles, shelf, apron, explosion, bubbles, liquid, instructions, test tube, powder and gloves. We played a game of rock, paper, scissors to really get to know the words well.
