Combined classes

Portfolio: Showed a video of the world’s most expensive yacht and we talked about what our yacht would look like. Using hypothetical „I would have…“ students wrote multiple sentences about their boat. Then students presented their ideas.

SB 110 story: We listened to the reading and did activity 1,2,3 and 4 together. Talked about all the stories over this year to celebrate the end of the lesson.

SB 121: Did whole page for review. Reviewed as a class and each student read a sentence.

Battle Arena: Went outside to play battle area with the vocabulary from the last three units as review.

Homework
Homework is set for next Monday, 15h May, pages 108 and 109 of the student’s book.

Class dojo
We received class dojo points for coming to class prepared with out books and homework done.

Warm up
We warmed up with a game of guess the famous person , taking it in turns to think of a famous person, and guess who it was using yes/no questions.

Vocabulary
We wrote a story based on using the flashcard vocabulary, taking it in turns to think of a sentence that included the words on the flashcards…..it was an ‚interesting‘ story.

Bingo
We played bingo using the 3rd form of the verb e.g. do, did, done……write, wrote, written……..drive, drove, driven.

Portfolios
In our portfolios we wrote about films we have already seen, holidays we have already been on, films we haven’t seen yet, and holidays we haven’t been on yet.

We completed page 109 of the student’s book

Unit review
We reviewed the unit 8 vocabulary, with a game of hotseat. Then reviewed the unit grammar If + Subject + Verb, Subject + will + verb clause.

Test
We did the unit 8 test, fast finishers did a summer wordsearch

Unit 9 vocabulary
We learnt the new unit vocabulary from the flashcards, sail, sailor, captain, mast, rat, porthole, cabin, lifeboat, and barometer.

Student’s book
We worked through page 106 and 107 of the student’s book.

Warm down
We finished the lesson with a game of scattegories.

Warm up
We warmed up with a game of guess the famous logo.

Vocabulary
We reviewed the unit 8 vocabulary with a game of Around The World using the unit flashcards.

Homework
We went over and corrected the homework from last week.

Video
We watched a video about how robots are taking over from humans in some jobs, and discussed how we thought that was going to affect life in the future.

Portfolios
In our portfolios we did an exercise on the unit grammar, using ‚if….then‘. We had some interesting answers to the questions.

Warm down
We warmed down with a class game of Uno.

We warmed up and got into English speaking mode with a quick game of Mafia

Vocabulary
We learnt the new unit 8 vocabulary, farmer, cleaner, engineer, dentist, artist, designer, computer programmer, mechanic, businesswoman, and businessman and discussed why they are important to the world, and how things would be different without them.

Grammar

We had a circle time where we all said one thing that we are good at and pointed out one thing that out classmates are good at.

Review of unit 7
We reviewed the unit 7 vocabulary and grammar, going over the flashcard words  lute, candles, mask, actor, wig, costume, tights and audience, and reviewing the use of ‚have just‘.

Test
We took the unit test, and finished the lesson with a game of Mafia

We warmed up by playing a game where we had to take it in turns to think of words from a particular category, like animals, clothing, parts of the body

We reviewed the unit 7 vocabulary lute, mask, candles, actor, costume, tights, audience and wig with a game of rock, paper, scissors

We went over and corrected our homework, pages 82 and 83 of the workbook. Homework is set for next week, pages 84 and 85 of the workbook.

Those who were away for the test last week took the unit 6 tests, while the rest of us made stories by writing a line, then folding the paper over for the next person to write a line, then read the story…it was certainly interesting.

William Shakespeare
In unit 7 the kids find William Shakespeare so we watched a short video about his life.
