Warm up
We played a game of werewolf to get our English language working.
Homework
Homework was set for next Monday, 12th October. Pages 10 and 11 of the workbook should be completed.
Flashcards
We looked at and learnt the unit 1 vocabulary using the flashcards : smoke, volcano, temple, theatre, statue, columns, horse and cart, vase, servant, and fountain.
Student’s book
We worked through and completed page 10 of the student’s book.
Student of the month
The student of the month was awarded their certificate. Very well done to them!!
Class dojo
We were awarded class dojo points for coming to the lesson prepared and ready to learn.
Grammar review
We did a review of the past simple grammar that we have been learning in the unit in preparation for the unit test.
Unit test
We did the unit 0 test, everyone was very focused, and it went well. Early finishers did a word search of the unit 0 vocabulary.
Scattegories
After we had finished the test, we divided into teams, and played Scattegories to warm down.
Student of the month

We did an exercise about the simple past tense of verbs.
Portfolios
In our portfolios we did an exercise, looking at the pictures in the student’s book, and describing what was happening in the pictures. Some really good stories!
Student’s book
We read through and completed pages 8 and 9 of the student’s book, everyone read really well.
End of class
We tidies up the class, and left it as we found it.

We practiced the unit vocabulary with a game of Zombie, which always gets the vocabulary flowing well.

We ended the class by tidying up and putting the classroom back as it should be.

We practised using the past tense of verbs by writing about the day we had yesterday, both regular and irregular verbs, like walk(ed), talk(ed), run(ran), and eat(ate)

We had a very quick review of class rules so they are fresh in our minds, tidied up the class, and put all the chairs up on the desks

Unit vocabulary
We learnt the unit 0 vocabulary. The words are ; goggles, shelf, apron, explosion, bubbles, liquid, instructions, test tube, powder and gloves. We played a game of rock, paper, scissors to really get to know the words well.

We worked through the exercises on page 4 of the student’s book, practising our new vocabulary.
