Portfolio: Reviewed our new vocab for students who missed last class, practiced spelling in our notebooks

New Grammar: Introduced our new grammar from the Student Book. Started with some review of simple past tense verbs and moved to making sentences using the past verbs. Asked students what they did yesterday, where they went on holiday last summer, etc to practice sentence creation. Used activities 1 and 2 on SB 5 for review.

Sentence creation: Students unscrambled these sentences.

Warm up: We followed a video for kids yoga to get our energy out before class.

Portfolio: We went over objects in the classroom and school, students had one minute to write as many words from the classroom before the bomb goes off.

Poster: We finished our posters for the hallway.

Student Book: We started our first unit, introduced the new vocabulary, did the listening activity on page 4 of student book

Vocab games: We played a game of cowboy standoff and Rock Paper Race.

Happy first day of classes!

Introduction: introduced each other, played would you rather, and talked about our favorite things.

Portfolio: Prepared our portfolio for the year with drawings and class rules inside

Class dojo: explained the reward system and how we earn points.

Bullying: Talked about bullying in class and signed the anti-bullying contract

Games: played mafia and did karaoke

Homework Due Monday

Warmer: Talked about classroom rules and what activities and games they like best.

Vocabulary review: pictionary with vocabulary cards and review

Grammer review: Talked about should and could and do you mind if, a short review before using it in the workbook for practice.

WB: Did WB pages 72-73. Practiced writing, sentence and question creation, and speaking with dialogues. Students practiced dialogues in pairs then preformed for the class.

Kahoot: Did a Kahoot on should/shouldn’t, must, and giving advice. Students worked in pairs to play the game.

Went outside: Went outside for the rest of lesson becuase students were very good at their written work. Played Chinese whisper, rock paper scissors vocabulary game, and used should/shouldn’t.
