Homework: AB19/1-3

Summary: Today we focused on plans, intentions and predictions using the phrase “going to.” This was good practice for talking about the future. 

Discussion: We played “rose, thorn, bud.” Students were paired with a friend and were instructed to tell their friend one good or bad thing, or something they were going to do in the future. 

Game: We played Taboo today. This is a great way to review and practice vocabulary and grammar.

Homework: AB17 – Flyer’s Listening 

Summary: Today we discussed how documentaries are made, and the differences between the practices in the past and the present. This was a perfect way to practice comparing and contrasting things with present and past tense verbs. 

Creative Writing: Students pretended to write for a TV program (the news, sports, a documentary, etc). This was great practice for using the unit vocabulary in context and past tense verbs. 
Survey: Students wrote about a show or movie they watched last night or last weekend. They used adjectives to describe the episode or movie, and how it made them feel.

Summary: Today we reviewed past tense verbs, sang a rock song about time, and practiced our new vocabulary. We also practiced listening for the difference in the sounds between ch and sh words like choose and shoes, chair and share, and cheap and sheep. 

Game: We played taboo today to practice our new vocabulary on TV programs (comedy, documentary, weather, etc).

Song: We sang a rock inspired song to practice our new vocabulary and telling time.

Homework: AB11/1-2 & AB12/1

Video: Would you rather..? Luxury edition 

  • We finished the second half of this video today during break. 

Summary: Today we discussed different television programs, and shared what we like to watch on television. This was a great way to practice the new vocabulary in unit 1.  We also focused on telling time in English. 

Game: What time is it? For this game the students need to speed write what time I tell them. We practiced phrases, “It’s ten to six,” and more!

HW: AB9/1-2 & Do you remember?

Video: Would you rather..?

  • This was a fun brain break for the students. 

Summary: Today we discussed school subjects.  We asked each other about which are our favourite and least favourite school subjects and why. We also asked each other what activities we did this summer. This was great practice for recognising the differences in asking and answering questions in the present simple and past tense. 

Song: We sang a song about school subjects and routines. The students really got into singing karaoke!

Video: Would you rather..?

  • This was a fun brain break for the students. 

Summary: Today we talked about blogs and school subjects.  This was a fun way to discuss our classes in English and get to know each other better. We also practiced asking and answering present simple questions. 

Game: “Rock, paper, scissors.”  This game is a great way to review and practice new vocabulary and vocabulary from last year (Kids Box 4).

Hotseat – hodinu zahajujeme známou hrou zaměřenou na procvičování slovíček

Portfolio – na tabuli vidí děti několik obrázků, každý si vybere obrázek a napíše pouze dvě věty: „He/She is .…. /happy, sad, angry, tired…../ He/She has got …. /blond , brown, curly hair, blue eyes…../“ Následně ostatní hádají

Song „Months of the year“

Activity – formou her a soutěží procvičujeme nová slovíčka

Song: – „Head shoulders knees and toes“

Nová gramatika: přivlastňovací zájmena MY, YOUR, HER, HIS, OUR, THEIR

Bookwork – SB str. 72 – posloucháme písničku a spojujeme obrázky, str. 73 – poslechové cvičení, sledujeme gramatické video

Hodinu zahajujeme písničkou Alphabet dance

Starfall – učíme se nové písmenko O, o

Alphabet Book– zapisujeme písmenko O, o a vybarvujeme obrázky

Gramatika – procvičujeme SHE – HER, HE – HIS -opakujeme formou her a na interaktivní tabuli

Bookwork – SB str. 24, 25 – posloucháme písničku a spojujeme, popisujeme obrázek, sledujeme gramatické video

Vocabulary – přídavná jména (old, new, long, short, ugly, beautiful) – provičujeme výslovnost, pracujeme s obrázkovými kartičkami a na interaktivní tabuli,

Activity – názorně si po třídě ukazujeme předměty na základě přídavných jmen
