portfolio: capitals

Activity: With many students out for the ski trip, we did activities outside of the textbook. Today we focused on Europe: capitals and flags. We did lots of matching, games, and bomb game.

Game: we went outside with Mr.Will’s class and played a Werewolf!

Intro: We began class by warming up our brains with a game of Scattegories.

Notebooks: In our notebooks, students gave me even more advice on a few „problems“ I had. Practicing our new grammar should for advice and recommendations.

Grammar Practice: Then students were assigned a problem, and they had to ask their classmates for advice using should.

Unit 6 Vocab Words: We practiced our new Unit 6 Vocabulary: flag, cushion, cup and saucer, carpet, basket, rings, earrings, sunglasses, plate, comb, soap.

City Guesser: We played a game where students watched a video clip of someone walking around a city and then had to guess which city and country they were in.https://virtualvacation.us/guess

Zkoušky Cambridge English – Flyers

Miss Lenka dnes představila anglickou zkoušku Flyers a ukázala nám některé její části. Podívali jsme se také na Certifikát, který absolventi zkoušky získají. K úspěšnému zvládnutí zkoušky nabízíme přípravný kurz. Detailní informace o datu zkoušky i přípravném kurzu mají rodiče v emailu od paní ředitelky Barešové. Portfolio: Should vs Shouldn’t

New Unit Vocabulary: Page 70, Talked about Cities, Countries, and Continents. Talked about Istanbul and watched a video on the markets of Istanbul. Did activity 1 and 2

Vocabulary game: Cowboy Standoff and Vocabulary cards

New Grammar: Went over should and Shouldn’t. Talked about rules and giving advice. Gave some situations and the student gave each other advice. Also talked about travelling students told me where they have went and what I should do if I go there.

Portfolio: did a wordwall, matching Made of/Used For, find here

New Grammar: Introduced possessives on page 61. Talked about this a lot on the board and with examples from the students. (example: Honza’s book / the students‘ book)

Activity: We watched a video about possessives, at the end I asked questions weather we add |’s| or |s’| and students went to one side of the classroom or the other.

WB: We did page 61 in the workbook together.

Activity: Possessives Jeopardy, using baamboozle. Split the students into teams and gave each a whiteboard marker, students wrote the answers and won points for their team.

Portfolio: Made of/used for matching

Review: re-taught the vocab and grammar for students that missed it. Had students teach me and the students thta missed!

Bomb: We played the bomb game using the new and old vocabulary words.

SB activity: We did page 65, learned about native americans, watched some videos on how they live, their homes, etc and talked about if we could live there, etc- good discussion!

Game: Jeopardy, we played wild west jeopardy also including the new grammar!

Introduced new unit: Went over all new vocabulary, spelling, defintions, etc. Did activity 1 and 2.

When I said go they took three steps away from each other, and when i said shoot they turned and the first student to say the word correctly one a point for their team.

Writing activity: Create a Criminal. We made „Wanted“ posters using the new vocabulary. Drew and designed a poster.
