Portfolio: We did an unscramble the sentences activity, using the grammar taught on Monday.
Bomba: We played a quick game of bomba for review new vocabulary.
Student book: We did the song activity on page 12, activity 1 and 2. After finishing, we sang the song, boys versus girls. We also went through the song and looked for the are grammar then created new sentences.
Karaoke Wednesday: Our student of the Month chose a song in English and we sang together with the lyrics on Youtube.
Workbook: We did the followup page in the work book, page 12. We finished activity 1,2 and 3. After we went through the activities together and checked.
Final Activity: We did a review game of ‚When‘ and ‚past continuous‘ on word wall then Baamboozle. Lightly introduced our new, upcoming grammar which is When v.s While .
Portfolio: We started class with new vocabulary review. I described the new words and the students wrote them in their books, then we played popcorn spelling bee to check our answers.
Cowboy stand off: We did a quick review game of the vocabulary we introduced Monday.
Student book: I introduced new grammar on page 11 in our student book. Started by reading and doing activity 1. From there introduced past continuous in addition to using ‚When‘. Moved to activity 2 and watched the Leo the Leopard video. After that we created sentences as a class using the new grammar.
Workbook: We finished page 11. We originally started with activity 1 together with the video. Then did activities 2 and 3. We read sentences from activity 3 out loud as a class.
Game: We did a past continuous Baamboozle as a class.
Tests were handed back, Student of the month awarded, and library books given out.
Portfolio: Today we watched this video on Pompeii to introduce the new unit. Students wrote as many words they knew from the video. Example: Volcano, explosion, vase, etc.
Student Book: Starting on page 10, we began the new unit. One student read the reading then we went through each vocabulary. We talked about each word and did matching to the photo in the book.
Spelling bee: All the students lined up and we had a spelling bee using the new vocabulary, as well as last units words.
Activity: on SB 10 we did activity 1 listening and writing. Then students typed the answers in the computer to practice.
Statue game: We played a variation of freeze dance but with statue poses.
Past Tense bingo: We played past tense bingo using the verbs from last unit and formed sentences with them.
Students who missed the test Monday took their test today!
Portfolio: We practiced past tense words from the unit in preparation for the test today. (Example: Get up – Got up, Has – had, etc)
Vocabulary review: We practiced spelling and past tense verbs with word tiles. We separated into teams and raced to spell words first. (Example: Spell goggles, spell the past tense of run, etc)
Test: We took the test as a class today, missing students will take it later this week. All the students did very well!
Activity: While waiting for students to finish the test we began a word creation activity. All students received a word such as ‚SpongeBob Squarepants‘ or ‚Computer games‘ and had to create as many words with the letters as possible.
After test: With the remaining time left after the test we played Dobble and Mafia as a class.
Portfolio We did a fill in the gap exercise to practice our unit vocabulary for Monday’s test. We recommend the students review this again at home as there will be an almost identical activity on the Test.
Super Minds We completed page 7 of the Student’s book, and the Workbook, and read the story on page 8 of the Student’s book. If a student was absent, please make sure that they complete the pages by the next week
Homework: Please scratch off the Activation Codes in Both the Student’s Book and Workbook and register both books on the Cambridge One Platform. We will be checking that the codes have been scratched off during the next class.
Please do Activity number 2 on page 6 of the Workbook to check that you know where to find the audio resources on Cambridge One.

Class Dojo: At the start of class, students receive Class Dojo points for coming Prepared with their Super Minds textbooks, for having done their Homework, and for any Book Reports they have done. At the end of class students receive further points for Working hard and Speaking English.
Warm Up: Wordwall to practice irregular past tense.
We recommend the students play this at home as these are the verbs they will need to know for the Test
We also played a round of Around the World with irregular past tense flashcards.
Portfolio: Gap fill exercise to further practice irregular past tense.
We recommend the students review this again at home as there will be an almost identical activity on the Test.
Unit 0 Vocabulary review: We reviewed our Unit vocabulary using the Super Minds online flashcard resources. Students have access to these flashcards at home as well on Cambridge One (under Learner Resources), so we recommend they review and make sure they can spell all Unit vocabulary.
Super Minds: We made sure all students have completed pages 4-6 in both the Student’s Book and Workbook. If a student was absent, please make sure they complete these pages by the next class. If a student did not complete all exercises on pages 4-6 in SB and WB, please make sure they do by the next class. We will begin page 7 in SB and WB next class.
Class Poster: We finished our Class Poster and are looking forward to showing it off in our hallway soon.
Scientific Invention: Students worked alone or in pairs to create their own invention which would make their school life easier. We will finish and present during the next lesson.

Closing: We played irregular past tense word dominoes and a game of flashcard duel.
New Grammar: Introduced our new grammar from the Student Book. Started with some review of simple past tense verbs and moved to making sentences using the past verbs. Asked students what they did yesterday, where they went on holiday last summer, etc to practice sentence creation. Used activities 1 and 2 on SB 5 for review.
Warm up: We followed a video for kids yoga to get our energy out before class.
Portfolio: We went over objects in the classroom and school, students had one minute to write as many words from the classroom before the bomb goes off.
Poster: We finished our posters for the hallway.
Student Book: We started our first unit, introduced the new vocabulary, did the listening activity on page 4 of student book
Vocab games: We played a game of cowboy standoff and Rock Paper Race.
