Tense relay
We divided in to 2 teams to do the theme of the lesson, writing the best Halloween story. We warmed up by playing a game of tense relay, racing to do a fill in the gaps exercise.
Idioms
We learnt some idioms to put into our story, then played a game in our teams to see who could remember the idioms the best.
| 1. Ghost town | A deserted, quiet place. |
| 2. Scared stiff | To be completely paralyzed by fear. |
| 3. Skeletons in the closet | A shameful secret from the past. |
| 4. Dig one’s own grave | To do something that will cause big problems later. |
| 5. Night owl | A person who stays up late at night. |
| 6. Over my dead body | To absolutely refuse something. |
| 7. Make one’s blood run cold | To terrify or horrify someone. |
