Portfolio: „What time are you going too..?“ Made sentences using both grammar points.

Activity 1: Played this game as a group

SB 38/39: Read the story together as a class, starting with activity 1 and 2. After reading the story we had discussion about being famous and what are the pros and cons of having fans etc. Each student gave their opinion on being famous and if they could do it. After we did activity 3 and 4 together.

WB 38/39: We did activities 1, 2 and ,3 solo and reviewed as a class. Then we did activity 6 all together, talking about our favorite artists and what we would ask them. Had fun talk about our favorite artists, why we like them, and how to interact with celebrities!

Spelling tiles: Went over the grammar with the spelling tiles and two teams.

Telling Time Kahoot: We did a telling time Kahoot mixed with four corners. Each answer was in a different corner, and we review the time words this way.

Portfolio: We started the class why unscrambling these sentences in our notebook as a review from last class.

New grammar: On page 37 we began to introduce the second grammar from this unit which is telling time. We did all activities in the book, as well as watched Leo the Leopard.

Discussion: We got together and talked about our daily routines and what time we do them. What time do you brush your teeth? What about on the weekend? What time do you leave your house to get to school, etc. Each student gave their schedule and we asked questions and talked.

Interactive Clock: At the board we used an online, inter-active clock, each student gave the student behind them in line a time and they were to make it on the clock and use it in a sentence.

WB 37: On workbook page 37 we did activities 1 and 2 together, and the third students did themselves.

Baamboozle: Students got into teams and we played this bamboozle. Each student had to read the time, also using the language from the grammar page (past/to)

Homework: SB page 34 and 35 all activities

Review: We started classes reviewing the new words for the students who have missed lessons, as well as tests were made up.

Portfolio: Vocabulary review and spelling, we talked about each word.

Wordwall: Students tried to beat the records of the other class in this matching game.

New Grammar: We began page 35, first with reading the activity 1 conversation. Students read the interview out loud and matched the months to the photos. We talked about what was the common theme through the reading, which introduced our new grammar „going to“. After, we put examples on the board, worked on sentence formula, and created positive, negative, and question sentences. We continued to activity 2, the grammar listening, and activity 3 we did together as a class.

SB 36: We did activity one together, starting with listening. Then students did the karaoke version. After filling in the words we talked about rhyming parts of the song to prepare for the workbook. Before moving to workbook we did one more karaoke of a song of each class’s choosing

WB 36: Did activity 1 separately and activity 2 as a class.

Closing activity: Together we did this rhyming bamboozle as an extension of the workbook page.

Portfolio: Introduced new unit by watching this video and having students right every word they can see in their notebook.

SB 34: Began to introduce the new words. Watched a short video on Elvis Presley and had long discussion about music. Then went through every new word in detail, spelling and watching a video for each. Then activity 2, listening activity we did together.

Discussion: We had long discussion about music, dancing, and playing instruments.

Spelling Bee: We did a popcorn spelling bee to go over the new words.

Activities: In the spirit of the new unit we did a karaoke and just dance, students were singing, reading, and dancing.

Portfolio: We started the class going over big numbers, reviewing the number words.

Student book: We then moved to Student book page 24, where we did activity one two and three. Starting with one, we did as a class and had students read the dialogue in pairs. Then we moved to the third activity where group made up their own instructions to a made-up game. They created a dialogue then shared it with the class.

Grammar: Taught have to, has to, doesn’t have to and don’t have to and created sentences at the board.

Student book: We then moved to SB page 25 where we first listened to the dialogue and talked about about what he has to do. Then activity 2 we created sentences. After, we watched the Leo the Leopard video to review the grammar.

Snake Island: We watched a video on Snake Island in Brazil. After we talked about the what we would have to do and have to bring if we were stuck on that island. In groups the students had to think of three things they would have to do or bring to the island if they were stuck there, as well as three things they didn’t need. Then as groups we shared together as a class.

We received Class Dojo points for coming to class  Prepared  and ready for the lesson

Warm up
We warmed up our brains and got into English with a game of Mafia

Portfolios
In out portfolios we wrote about whether we would rather visit the Savannah or the Rainforest, and gave 3 reasons why.

Student’s Book
We reviewed the story of the time travelling kids so far, then we carried on reading the story on pages 26 and 27 of the Student’s Book

We played a game of duel to refresh our memories of the Unit 2 Flashcards

Portfolio: To introduce our grammar of big numbers we played a game of how much is it from this video.

SB: First I taught the new grammar to the students. We did activities 1 and 2, as well as the Leo the Leopard video

Wordwall: We did a big numbers wordwall to review the numeral places and words.

WB: Together we did the whole page and went over it together. Also did some number spelling to review.

How Many Jeopardy: I made a how many Jeopardy game and split the students into teams and played. Students were required to write the full number for each and say them outloud.

Homework WB 22 due Monday

Portfolio: Introduced the new unit with this video. Students wrote as many words as they knew from the video and then we did the quiz at the end. We had a nice conversation about rainforests and animals we know.

Student Book: We started the new unit on page 22. Went through each word and did listening activity 1.

Popcorn Spelling Bee: We did a spelling bee with the new words as well as words from the past few units.

Kahoot: Rainforest Kahoot about the video as new animals.

Cowboy standoff game: Vocabulary review with new and old vocabulary

New Grammar: We did a small introduction to our upcoming grammar. Talked about how many species of insects and animals etc using large numbers.

Halloween Lesson continued, Will be starting the new unit on Monday please bring books! 🙂

Portfolio: Parts of the body halloween game + Simon says game as review.

Halloween Baamboozle: We did a Jeopardy halloween game.

Build a Monster: We built a monster (using colures paper, markers, etc) and wrote about them. Talked about what the monster likes, dislikes, etc then shared aloud with everyone in the class.

Halloween Kahoot: Students with personal whiteboards played halloween themed Kahoot that tested their knowledge of the holiday and its movies.
