Was/Were (Past Simple = minulý čas prostý)
Minulý čas slovesa být (to be) je „was“ u jednotného čísla a „were“ u čísla množného.
I/He/She/It was/wasn’t… (e.g. small/grey/big)
You/They/We were/weren’t… (e.g. small/grey/big)
There was…a fish/a turtle. (singular) X There were… some fish/ eight turtles. (plural)
Questions + Answers
Was I/he/she/it….? // Were you/we/they…?
Yes, I/he/she/it was. // Yes, you/we/they were.
No, I/he/she/it wasn’t. // No, you/we/they weren’t.
