Homework: AB73/3-5

Summary: We continued unit 8 this week. We discussed different sports and which seasons you can practice them. We focused on the present perfect tense.

Creating Questions: students created their own present perfect questions. For example, “Have you ever ridden a camel? Have you ever been to the US? Have you ever stepped on a bee? Yes, I have. / No, I haven’t.”

Test: Next week we will review for our final test. It will be scheduled for May 26 on units 7 & 8.

Project: Students will research 1 endangered animal and how we can help it,  and write a report on it. Photos or drawings are encouraged. Next week they will present their report. 

Summary: We completed unit 7 this week. We discussed how we can help endangered animals.

Writing skills: Students learned how to use when to give facts. Example: When hedgehogs come out for food, they can walk more than 3 kilometres! 

Cambridge exam: Students practiced some test taking skills to prepare them for the Cambridge Flyers exam. We focused on reading and writing.

Portfolio: Word scrambles: sunny, windy, raining.

Activity: What´s the weather like? Flashcards: windy, snowing, raining, sunny, cloudy, wet, rainbow. Podle pokynu ukazují žáci odpovídající název počasí. Hot potatoe.

Bookwork: PB 72/1, PB 73/1, AB 72/1, 2, PB 74/1, AB 74/1.

Vocabulary: Weather: cloudy, cold, dry, hot, rainbow, raining, snowing, sunny, windy, wet, dry. Clothes: sweater, scarf, gloves, coat, hat.

Grammar: What’s the weather like? It’s (snowing, cold, windy). Minulý čas prostý: of “to be”: was/were, wasn’t/weren’t.

Students will research information about 8 endangered animals (AB67/1), and then create a quiz for their classmates. 

Summary: We continued working on unit 7. We focused on different endangered animals (Siberian tiger, polar bear, Ganges river dolphin, Poison Dart Frog, etc)

Sumamry: We continued working on unit 7. Today we focused on endangered animals, and how we can help them. 

Giving Advice: Students continued practicing giving and asking for advice (“What should I do? You should/shouldn’t…”). 

Game: Taboo – This was a great way for the students to practice describing animals.
