Portfolio: We started the class going over big numbers, reviewing the number words.

Student book: We then moved to Student book page 24, where we did activity one two and three. Starting with one, we did as a class and had students read the dialogue in pairs. Then we moved to the third activity where group made up their own instructions to a made-up game. They created a dialogue then shared it with the class.

Grammar: Taught have to, has to, doesn’t have to and don’t have to and created sentences at the board.

Student book: We then moved to SB page 25 where we first listened to the dialogue and talked about about what he has to do. Then activity 2 we created sentences. After, we watched the Leo the Leopard video to review the grammar.

Snake Island: We watched a video on Snake Island in Brazil. After we talked about the what we would have to do and have to bring if we were stuck on that island. In groups the students had to think of three things they would have to do or bring to the island if they were stuck there, as well as three things they didn’t need. Then as groups we shared together as a class.

Warm up
We warmed up our brains and got into English with a game of Mafia

Portfolios
In out portfolios we wrote about whether we would rather visit the Savannah or the Rainforest, and gave 3 reasons why.

Student’s Book
We reviewed the story of the time travelling kids so far, then we carried on reading the story on pages 26 and 27 of the Student’s Book

Portfolio: To introduce our grammar of big numbers we played a game of how much is it from this video.

SB: First I taught the new grammar to the students. We did activities 1 and 2, as well as the Leo the Leopard video

Wordwall: We did a big numbers wordwall to review the numeral places and words.

WB: Together we did the whole page and went over it together. Also did some number spelling to review.

How Many Jeopardy: I made a how many Jeopardy game and split the students into teams and played. Students were required to write the full number for each and say them outloud.

Homework WB 22 due Monday

Portfolio: Introduced the new unit with this video. Students wrote as many words as they knew from the video and then we did the quiz at the end. We had a nice conversation about rainforests and animals we know.

Student Book: We started the new unit on page 22. Went through each word and did listening activity 1.

Popcorn Spelling Bee: We did a spelling bee with the new words as well as words from the past few units.

Kahoot: Rainforest Kahoot about the video as new animals.

Cowboy standoff game: Vocabulary review with new and old vocabulary

New Grammar: We did a small introduction to our upcoming grammar. Talked about how many species of insects and animals etc using large numbers.

Halloween Lesson continued, Will be starting the new unit on Monday please bring books! 🙂

Portfolio: Parts of the body halloween game + Simon says game as review.

Halloween Baamboozle: We did a Jeopardy halloween game.

Build a Monster: We built a monster (using colures paper, markers, etc) and wrote about them. Talked about what the monster likes, dislikes, etc then shared aloud with everyone in the class.

Halloween Kahoot: Students with personal whiteboards played halloween themed Kahoot that tested their knowledge of the holiday and its movies.

Happy Halloween! Today we did a halloween lesson filled with games and halloween activities. Students who missed the test Monday took make up the tests as well. Have a nice fall holiday, see you soon!

Test Day! today we did some reviewed and took the Unit 1 test. In the time remaining we played Mafia as a mixed class.

Portfolio: We started class writing three sentences, one using our grammar, While. We used the slides with two action pictures and shared our sentences out loud.

Spelling tiles: We used the spelling tiles to go over the vocabulary. Split the students into two teams and made it a game.

Sb 14 and 15: We began by doing activities 1 and 2, and talked about the photos- asked the students what they think the story is about. Went on to listen to the story and the students followed the reading. We talked about the ending and went on to activity 1 and 2.

WB 14: After break we did workbook page 14, the whole thing, in pairs. Students were encouraged to not look into the student book and work together from memory.

Game: Today we played whisper, a vocabulary game with flash cards around the room. Students were split into teams and I gave them a word which they whispered down the team, and the final member had to find the card first.

Portfolio: We started the class by unscrambling these sentences. Students wrote three sentences in their books and we finished the rest at the board together.

Old grammar review: Each student made two sentences using When + past simple/past continuous. I used this activity to lightly introduce the new grammar.

SB 13: We began with page 13 in the student book activity 1. We first did the activity then began to talk about ‚While‘. We first used the examples in activity one then moved to acting out in class. Two students would do two actions and the seated students would make a sentence. Then we moved to the grammar video of Leo the Leopard which the students watched and read out loud. We finished with the final activity on page 13.

When v.s While: We talked about the differences in these words and created crazy sentences for each. Then we moved to the board for a When vs While game.

WB 13: We did activities 1-3 in pairs, when finished each group presented the answers to one activity.

Group game: We separated into teams and did a Jeopardy game testing While, When, and sentence creation.
